In 2004 the Museum of Modern Art reopened in Manhattan after a two year renovation. They had raised their admission fee from $12 to $20 which at the time was one of the highest in the country. In protest I stood in front of the museum wearing a sandwich board and handing out flyers. This generated a terrifying (for me) amount of press interest, a small sampling of which is here:
